Network Setup
& Installation, Upgrading ImagineTime®
|
| Network Installation -
Install the software on the network - local program file,
data file to the server:
- First, install the software locally to each workstation
in the office with the CD disk that was shipped to
you using the Workstation Fast installation option. Accept the
default program location of c:\program files\bothworldssoftware\imaginetime.
Do not check Outlook Export, unless you have purchased the MS
Outlook® integration option.
- Next, bring the installation CD to the server and use
the Network Data file option to install the data file at the
correct server location of your choice - we suggest
the default location of c:\program files\bothworldssoftware\imaginetime.
You may run this installation option from a workstation (if
you do not have direct access to the server). In that case,
we recommend that you use the default directory location and
substitute the network drive letter of your choice...for example,
H:\program files\bothworldssoftware\imaginetime.
- After you have completed these steps, select one of the workstations
and link to the network data file (make
sure no other workstations are on the system) by clicking
on the ImagineTime desktop icon and perform the following steps:
- The relinking utility will ask you to
"Please link ImagineTime to the current location of
the Tbdata.mdb file". Click [Ok] and a dialog box will
appear.
- Click the [Browse for File Location]
Button #1 and navigate to the network data file that you
installed in step (2) above. When you have located the tbdata.mdb
file, double click on it, or single-click to highlight the
file and click the [Open] button at the bottom right of
the dialog to accept it.
- Next, click the [Ok] button (button #2)
on the relink screen. This will complete the relinking of
the local program file to the server data file - please
be patient as this could take as long as five minutes.
- After the relinking has completed, a message
will display. Close the ImagineTime program using the X
at the top right of the screen, or by clicking File/Exit
on the menu bar at the top left.
- Re-open the ImagineTime program by Double-Clicking
on the the ImagineTime icon on the desktop. If you are asked
for a login name and password, please use "OPENBAL"
and the password of "BWS". Verify the location
of the data file by double-clicking on the ImagineTime icon
in the center of the main menu. The data file path will
be shown in black in the middle of the About screen starting
with the word....Data. Press [OK] to close the About Screen.
You are ready to register the software.
- Click on the registration wizard button in
the middle of the main menu screen and register the data file
following the registration procedure on the screen and using
the unlock codes you received from us via email.
- Congratulations!
You have now completed the installation of one workstation and
the network data file.
- Repeat step (3) above for each additional workstation.
The program should re-open automatically with the registered
data file after relinking has completed. It will be unnecessary
to re-register the data file since it was already done in Step
4 above. Remember, if you are asked for a login name and password,
please use "OPENBAL" and the password of "BWS".
- Press F1 at the main menu of one of the workstations to activate
the on-screen help. Go to the getting started section and follow
the procedures listed there to begin the program setup.

| Upgrading
ImagineTime in 7 Steps:
- Determine the locations of your existing program (tb2000.mde)
and data files (tbdata.mdb). You can check this out
by opening ImagineTime and double-clicking on the ImagineTime
logo in the middle of the main menu for each of your workstations.
This will pull up the "About" screen. In the middle
of the about screen are the locations for the program and data
files.
- Go to www.imaginetime.com and download the most current
"regular version" or "Outlook version" of
our software by going to the home page of our web site.
Click on update/download option (left side of screen), and type
in your company name and registration ID number exactly
as they appear the on the Company Information/Setup
screen (A8). This will get you to the download page with the
picture of the ocean.
- Next, select the first or second options at the top
left of the download screen, depending upon whether you have
the regular version or use Outlook integration. Remember
that to use Outlook integration you must have MS Outlook®
2000 installed on your computer and an unlock code from Both
Worlds Software, Inc. You can check whether you have this feature
enabled by checking out the options tab of the Company Information/Setup
screen (A8). When you have selected the appropriate download,
SAVE the installation file to your desktop,
or to a common network file location if you intend to upgrade
all the workstations at this time.
- Next, execute the upgrade file on each workstation
by double-clicking on it. Before
you begin this procedure make sure all users have exited ImagineTime.
Allow the program to install the upgraded program file to the
default location (c:\program files\bothworldssoftware\imaginetime)
unless you previously installed the program to a non-default
location. If your program file is not in the default location,
you must browse to the correct program file location during
the upgrade installation.
- After the upgrade file has been downloaded and installed on
your computer, open the ImagineTime program.
At this point you may be required to relink the program
file to the location of the network data file, unless
you have a single user installation in which case relinking
should not normally be required. See the network installation
instructions above for a brief description of how to relink.
- After the upgrade has completed and you have relinked, load
the program and double-click on the ImagineTime logo
in the middle of the main menu. Verify that the program
release shown at the top right of the about screen
is the most recent version and the data and program file paths
are correct for this workstation's installation.
- Make sure you update every computer in the office
that is using a local program (tb2000.mde) file
before you begin using ImagineTime.
